Application of GTAKE GK620 Series Inverters in Bridge Stone Cutting Machines
The bridge stone cutting machine is one of the key equipment in the stone processing industry, designed to cut large stone blocks in one go. It consists of dual columns, a large horizontal beam, a lifting mechanism, and a spindle box.
As a traditional stone processing tool, the bridge cutting machine is indispensable for processing large stone blocks. Its electrical control system is typically divided into two parts:
Lifting Mechanism and Beam Movement
The vertical (up-down) motion of the lifting mechanism and the forward-backward movement of the beam are typically controlled via a hydraulic system. Some manufacturers adopt servo systems for higher precision.
Lateral Movement of the Lifting Mechanism
A low-power inverter (3.7–7.5 kW) controls the speed of the lateral cutting motion.
Main Motor
The main motor, which drives the cutting blade, is powered by either a star-delta starter or an inverter. Its power ranges from 45 to 132 kW, and it typically operates for extended periods, making it the most energy-intensive component.
System Configuration
This application uses two GK620 series inverters:
Lateral Movement Control:
GK620-4T3.7B ~ GK620-4T7.5B, depending on the power requirements of the lateral motion system.
Main Motor Control:
GK620-4T37G/45L ~ GK620-4T110G/132L, operating a permanent magnet synchronous motor in open-loop mode.
Advantages of the Solution
Cost Reduction and Efficiency Enhancement
The solution uses GTAKE’s GK620 inverter for the main motor, paired with a synchronous motor running in open-loop mode, significantly reducing energy consumption.
Field tests indicate:
Compared to the main motor running at power frequency, efficiency improves by 15%-30%.
Compared to traditional asynchronous motor systems with inverters, efficiency improves by 8%-15%.
Safety and Stability
Designed to address common issues in stone processing environments, such as high dust levels, water exposure, and interference with encoder signals.
With GTAKE’s advanced software algorithms and targeted hardware improvements, the system ensures long-term, stable, and fault-free operation.
GK620 is a general-purpose AC drive with V/Hz and sensor-less vector control. It’s powerful in performance, reliable in quality and optimized in structure.
